The following points are important for providing an accurate description, determining current value and replacement cost.
Manufacturer: Common brand names include Reed & Barton, Gorham, International, Lunt, Oneida, Steiff & Co., Towle, Wallace, Georg Jensen, Sheffield Silver Co.
Pattern Name: i.e. Lexington. Florentine. King George.
Sterling or Sliverplate: Tremendous difference in price. Sterling will be stamped "Sterling" and will be significantly more expensive than plate.
Inventory of Pieces: Including number of pieces and how many of each.
Size: Luncheon, place or dinner.
If Holloware: Dimensions and physical description.
Photographs/Video: The best positive ID. Age of Sliver
